On September 17, Xpeng launched its flagship large five-seat SUV, the G9L, with an official guide price of 241,800–319,800 yuan and a limited-time price from 231,800 yuan. The first right-hand-drive units rolled off the Guangzhou plant and are headed for Australia, with the model planned to enter 64 countries and regions; a global launch is set for October 12 at the Paris Motor Show.
Chairman He Xiaopeng said Xpeng is in talks with multiple automakers and non-automakers—covering technology and chips—on cooperation, with some outcomes to be disclosed around the Paris show. Reuters reported the company plans to export technology packages (E/E architecture, smart cockpit, Turing AI chips, ADAS software) to clients beyond Volkswagen, potentially extending to Robotaxi and humanoid "physical AI" applications.
Xpeng's service and other revenue rose 93.9% year on year to 2.7 billion yuan in Q2 2026 with gross margin climbing to 75.1%, versus just 1.0% vehicle-sales growth and a 1.34 billion yuan net loss—underscoring why "selling know-how" is becoming a higher-margin business than selling cars.
