Consumer Daily reported that Yiwu's Christmas-goods export peak is ending earlier than usual this year. With less than 100 days to Christmas, the September–October shipping window has shifted forward by more than a month as ocean-shipping cycles force earlier shipment scheduling.
Yiwu hosts over 500 Christmas-product operators exporting about 20,000 varieties of Christmas goods to more than 100 countries and regions, supplying roughly 80% of the world's Christmas products. Merchants said this year's order intake is better than last year, with the final large U.S.-bound orders shipping by mid-October.
Longer ocean lead times have pushed delivery schedules earlier: one packaging firm felt the shift as early as February, with Christmas orders arriving then and requiring May delivery versus the usual mid-July. Remaining orders are increasingly concentrated in near markets such as Vietnam, the Philippines and South Korea, where 15-day logistics are controllable.
While traditional European and U.S. markets stay steady, fast-rising procurement from Latin America and Southeast Asia is becoming a new growth pole, as Yiwu's export markets blossom across multiple regions to cushion volatility.
