On September 16, Zhejiang media highlighted how Yiwu—China's "World Supermarket" with no coastline—has deployed a "dual-fast plus consolidation warehouse" solution that brings the port to its doorstep, giving small-commodity exports logistics certainty.
The "dual fast" combines a sea-rail express line from Yiwu West Station directly to Ningbo-Zhoushan Port with a fast ocean shipping route, enabling one declaration, one inspection and one release, compressing inland transit time. Four such lines now run, to Wilhelmshaven, Dubai, a US e-commerce dedicated line, and a COSCO double-fast train to Wenzhou Port, saving over ten days at sea and more than 10% in overall logistics cost.
For the many small merchants whose orders are too small to fill a container, the consolidation warehouse—essentially a dock moved to Yiwu—aggregates scattered orders from multiple firms for unified customs declaration and shipment, letting small players enjoy scale pricing and capacity.
Crucially, goods are declared and inspected before stuffing; if some items fail, the rest of the compliant cargo still ships, greatly reducing risk for small merchants. Combined with railway and ocean fast lines, the model gives Yiwu's inland city harbor-like clearance convenience.
