On the evening of September 6, 2026, China's "Anhui Car-Making F4" - Wang Chuanfu, Chairman of BYD; Yin Tongyao, Chairman of Chery; Li Bin, Founder of NIO; and Xiang Xingchu, Chairman of JAC Group - appeared together for the first time at a single university, the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), in Hefei, Anhui Province.
All four leaders are Anhui natives. The event showcased flagship vehicles from each company, including the NIO ET9 and ES9, the JAC-Maextro尊界 developed with Huawei, the Chery Fengyun A9 and Exeed Sterra EX7, and the BYD Yangwang lineup.
Wang Chuanfu said BYD's research and development investment over the past year alone reached 63.4 billion yuan, with cumulative R&D investment now exceeding 270 billion yuan and the company employing more than 120,000 R&D personnel. Yin Tongyao noted that one Chery vehicle is exported every 16 seconds on average.
Data shows that in the first half of 2026, Anhui produced 1.6867 million vehicles and 881,800 NEVs, with 1.006 million units exported generating 104.36 billion yuan, ranking first in China across all four categories.
