On August 31, 2026, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) issued the "Notice on Launching the AI Application Service Provider Cultivation Special Action." The action sets clear targets: by end-2026, the number of service providers in the national resource pool should exceed 2,000, and by end-2027, no fewer than 3,000, supporting the formation of an AI application service ecosystem with full-factor coordination, full-chain connectivity, and full-scenario coverage. The action deploys four core tasks: establishing a unified national service provider resource pool, enhancing industry service supply capacity through AI application service groups, promoting scaled application through standardized modular solutions, and strengthening support guarantees including computing power vouchers and frontline deployment engineer (FDE) teams. The initiative leverages BRICS and China-ASEAN cooperation mechanisms to push high-quality AI application projects overseas.
