The China Society of Automotive Engineers released a New-Energy-Vehicle Energy-Efficiency White Paper on October 27, mapping nine major technology trends across three layers of the EV stack, Cailian Press reported.
At the vehicle structure and process layer, the paper points to lightweight multi-material coordination and system-level structural optimization; at the battery and powertrain layer, high-voltage architectures and wide-bandgap power devices are pushing electrical-energy conversion toward higher efficiency; and at the thermal and energy-management layer, vehicle-integrated thermal management is becoming the norm.
The white paper recommends that policy accelerate energy-efficiency grading management, improve efficiency-labeling systems, and coordinate efficiency standards with green-product certification and trade-in programs.
Analysts say an efficiency-grading regime, if implemented, could influence vehicle access and trade-in eligibility and tilt competition from raw range toward verified efficiency.
