The 140th Canton Fair, widely seen as a barometer of Chinese foreign trade, is showcasing how far the country's intelligent manufacturing has advanced, with the NEV and smart mobility section attracting waves of foreign buyers who place orders after test sittings.
GAC's Qijing GX7 made its debut at the fair, featuring an L3-grade intelligent driving architecture and a range of up to 1,500 kilometers. The model drew a steady stream of overseas buyers for test experiences and price negotiations.
According to company information released at the fair, GAC runs a lighthouse plant that rolls a new vehicle off the line every 53 seconds and has built a technology base covering the full value chain from powertrain and body to cockpit, architecture, chips and complete vehicles. It also fields in-house advances in all-solid-state batteries, magazine batteries and Quark electric drive, alongside forward-looking projects such as the GOVY flying car and the GoMate robot.
By September, GAC's overseas business covered 121 countries and regions with 833 overseas outlets, seven overseas plants, nine parts transit warehouses and four global R&D centers. Overseas sales reached 197,000 vehicles in the first three quarters, up 138.9 percent year on year, as the company pushes toward an annual target of 300,000 units.
Industry data released ahead of the fair indicated that China's total vehicle exports this year are on track to exceed 10 million units, with NEVs serving as the key growth engine.
