Parents dine and dash with two children in tow, sparking outrage over the bad example set. A family of five in Xi'an pulled off a coordinated dine-and-dash at a barbecue restaurant, drawing wide attention. What hurts most in the restaurant business is not slow trade or hard work, but customers deliberately skipping the bill. On the evening of August 13, surveillance captured an ironic scene: the family of five finished a table full of barbecue, then split up and slipped away, successfully dodging the bill.
According to the footage, the family included three adults and two children. They ordered many dishes and ate normally. Yet after the meal, not one volunteered to pay. Instead, they began a 'staggered exit.' A woman left first with the youngest child, followed by an older man. Most distressing, a teenage boy hesitated but, urged by the adult male, joined the dine-and-dash.
The last adult male stayed behind, waited until staff were busy, then pretended to make a phone call and slipped out. The whole process was smooth and unhurried. Netizens agreed this was a carefully planned, coordinated dine-and-dash rather than a simple forgotten bill.
