China's electric vehicle charging infrastructure continued to expand rapidly, reaching 23.057 million charging points by the end of June 2026, an increase of 43.2 percent compared with the same period last year, according to industry data.
County-level coverage of charging facilities rose to 98.61 percent, further narrowing the gap between urban and rural charging access. The expansion supports the country's growing NEV fleet, which crossed the 50 percent cumulative sales share threshold in the first seven months of 2026.
Analysts say the world's largest charging network, combined with the most complete new energy vehicle supply chain, has created a mutually reinforcing ecosystem that provides resilience for the industry's continued growth.
Local governments are also stepping up support. Changzhou in Jiangsu Province has been selected as a pilot city for large-scale deployment of new energy heavy-duty trucks, with plans to build more than 30 charging and battery-swap stations by 2030.
