At the 2026 Tencent Global Digital Ecosystem Summit on October 29, Tencent announced that Hunyuan Hy4 will be released soon, with a comprehensive upgrade over the Hy4 preview — especially stronger performance on long-horizon and real productivity tasks, more efficient chains of thought, and the first introduction of visual understanding, China National Radio reported.
Hy4 Flash will also launch soon as a cost-effective practical model, carrying over Hy4's visual and agentic capabilities through deep model-product co-design. In August, Tencent had released and open-sourced the Hy4 preview with 770 billion total parameters, 49 billion activated parameters and a context length exceeding 1 million tokens, keeping it in the first tier of open-source models. At the summit, Tencent also expanded its enterprise AI productivity agent WorkBuddy internationally and said its overseas customer base had doubled over the past year with triple-digit international growth in AI demand.
The releases show Chinese front-line models pushing into multimodal and agentic territory while broadening global enterprise reach.
