The "High-Quality Development Story Forum" on October 29 featured Zhu Songchun, a member of the 14th CPPCC National Committee and head of the Beijing Institute for General Artificial Intelligence, discussing how "AI+" is reshaping production and life and forging a new form of intelligent economy, People's Daily Online reported.
Three vivid cases illustrated the shift. In a Chongqing community, an "AI avatar" built on a "Reassurance Project" responds to residents' needs around the clock, turning "people seeking services" into "services finding people" and improving both efficiency and warmth of grassroots governance. At a Jingbo petrochemical asphalt plant, an industrial AI time-series model (TPT) automatically tunes production parameters and predicts indicator changes, cutting internal operators' action frequency by over 80% and external workload by more than a third while safeguarding safety and cutting carbon. And AI weather-warning cooperation extends benefits across borders, helping smaller developing countries access advanced early-warning capabilities.
Zhu stressed that "AI+ industry" is not about replacing people with machines but about turning human experience into reusable model capabilities, freeing workers for higher-value decisions and creation.
