Intelligent products are emerging as a new growth point for Yiwu's foreign trade, CCTV reported, as a wave of festive-season reorders extended later into the year. In previous years, peak orders for European and American holiday goods wound down by summer, but in 2026 shipments from Yiwu remained strong into October, buoyed by the two sides' consensus on a US$30 billion reciprocal tariff reduction that revived US client purchasing willingness and triggered a stream of additional orders.
Yiwu's 2026 festive goods upgraded meaningfully: Christmas ornaments and decorations gained sound-and-light sensing; new AI-recording cards, bionic butterflies and dancing robots debuted in the market. One operator said AI glasses were a hot item with daily shipments of over one hundred units and customer growth above 30% in the first three quarters. Smart, innovative products — rather than bare low-price volume — are now the main force pulling in new orders.
According to Yiwu Customs, the city's foreign-trade exports reached 548.85 billion yuan in the first eight months, up 12.8% year on year, with Christmas-goods exports to Latin America, the EU and ASEAN totaling 3.23 billion yuan, or 67.9% of the city's total Christmas-goods exports.
