A customized rail-sea enterprise block train laden with 51 containers of daily necessities departed the Yiwu (Suxi) International Hub Port and headed via the Yongjin Railway to the Chuanshan terminal of Ningbo-Zhoushan Port, before being transshipped by sea to the Middle East, The Paper reported on October 29. The departure marks the successful maiden run of the hub's customized rail-sea enterprise block train.
The tailor-made train precisely addresses three pain points for foreign-trade exporters — tight capacity, high warehousing costs and high logistics expenses. By relying on the hub's regular, fixed-schedule rail-sea shuttle, large batches of containers can be shipped in concentrated blocks; empty containers are consolidated and transferred to the hub by rail in a single batch, cutting forward storage and warehouse rent; and the train runs directly to the port, avoiding demurrage fees while locking in slots through coordination among shipping lines, railways and customs.
Moving forward, Yiwu Port plans to build a "entrust-once, worry-free-end-to-end" logistics总承包 service, amplifying the "sixth port area" hub effect and supporting a stable, efficient foreign-trade supply chain across central Zhejiang.
