New-energy-vehicle retail penetration has stayed above 60% for six consecutive months, supported by the latest commerce-ministry data showing new-energy cars accounted for 60.5% of trade-in subsidies, according to a National Business Daily report on October 30. The new-energy share of total vehicle exports has meanwhile exceeded 50% for four straight months.
Research institutions note that the foundation of China's NEV export growth lies in the systematic competitiveness of its industrial chain, three-electric systems and intelligence — rather than merely tariff or subsidy tailwinds — and that the export trend will not reverse. The data arrives as the auto sector undergoes a slow recovery, with industry sentiment expected to gradually improve and analysts maintaining an "overweight" rating on the automobile sector.
The figures underscore a structural shift: domestic electrification is maturing while overseas shipments are emerging as the sector's next growth engine.
