The CEIC2026 Greater Bay Area AI Innovation Conference concluded in Shenzhen on October 28, China Media Group reported. Gathering more than 500 ecosystem partners, the event advanced the "smart IoT + open-source HarmonyOS" industrial ecosystem and proposed three initiatives: build the industrial base with standards, activate industry momentum with AI, and expand industrial space with the ecosystem.
Li Haizhou, director of the LIMA Center at the Shenzhen-Hong Kong River Loop Academy, said the academy adheres to internationalization and embracing domestic compute, having completed large-model post-training verification on a domestic-compute base, proving domestic hardware can support world-class large models. A student team won the global championship in ITU's AI Agent competition.
Sessions spanned low-altitude economy AI (reinforcement learning for edge-air-cloud coordination), AI for Science (Mat Brain compressing months-long R&D to days), intelligent-terminal standards (GPMI, NearLink), and Huawei's OpenClaw entering an Agentic-AI stage. The Hong Kong Productivity Council showed how Agentic AI and RAG empower industrial R&D and life-health commercialization.
The conference reflects the Greater Bay Area's strategy of coupling open-source ecosystems, domestic compute and cross-border talent to lead applied AI.
