On October 28, China News Service Zhejiang reported that artificial intelligence is逐步 entering multiple links of Yiwu's small-commodity trade — selection, design, marketing, translation and customer acquisition. At a core sub-forum of the 2026 Yiwu Trade Conference, the "World Yiwu" AI Ecosystem Conference and AI Innovation Contest awards ceremony, 13 tech firms won "World Yiwu · AI Pioneer" awards, 20 market operators won "AI Navigator" awards, and 33 AI trade-application cases were showcased.
Multilingual AI marketing videos help merchants produce promotional content, AI translation lowers cross-language costs, AI design tools assist with product imagery and new-product design, and AI standalone sites open new overseas channels. Behind these applications is Yiwu's three-year exploration of integrating AI with trade scenarios.
Unlike traditional speech-only forums, the event set up a supply-demand matching session where operators posed real business problems and tech firms claimed them on the spot — a mechanism to push AI products from feature demos toward concrete application. The "World Yiwu" AI ecosystem build-out will subsequently merge mature AI capabilities into the "World Yiwu" app.
The effort reflects Yiwu's strategy of iterating lightweight, low-cost, easy-to-use AI products that deeply fuse artificial intelligence with small-commodity trade.
