SVOLT (Hive Energy) has mass-produced and rolled off line its "Dragon Scale Armor" 100 kWh semi-solid-state (mixed solid-liquid) ultra-fast-charging battery pack in Changzhou, the October 27 Auto Morning Brief reported. The company argues that the mixed solid-liquid route is not a transitional solution and will become a mainstream path in the ternary-battery segment.
The pack belongs to a new generation of high-safety, high-rate cells that combine the energy density advantages of solid-state chemistry with the manufacturability of liquid electrolytes, enabling ultra-fast charging while improving thermal and mechanical safety.
The debut comes as Chinese battery makers push beyond conventional LFP and ternary cells toward semi-solid-state products, with CATL, Gotion, Chery and SAIC all flagging 2027 as a validation year for solid-state and semi-solid-state packs.
SVOLT's move adds momentum to a domestic battery-technology race where energy density, charging speed and safety are converging as the next differentiation frontier.
