On the afternoon of October 26, Li Auto CEO Li Xiang opened a pre-launch teardown live stream for the 2026 Li Auto i6, declaring that building cars "is not building a black box, and certainly not building rush-built cars," PChome and Autohome reported. Li said the new model uses the self-developed "Lianshan" battery, with materials, cells and pack all designed by Li Auto and fully integrated with the vehicle data.
In a real-world range test around Taihu Lake with four occupants and a full load, the i6 achieved 811.4 km, with energy consumption of 11.8 kWh per 100 km. The 2026 i6 is positioned as a large five-seat pure-electric SUV with up to 780 km CLTC range; its 96 kWh battery supports adding about 500 km of range in 10 minutes of charging.
The live stream invited owners of the 2025 i6 to witness the process, with Li stressing that every upgrade suggestion from the past year was incorporated. The show cars have reached dealerships, and pre-built units are set for nationwide delivery on October 29.
The event reflects a broader industry push from "scale is king" toward verified quality and genuine innovation as the "anti-rush-built-car" ethos gains traction.
