Major automakers are rapidly expanding electric vehicle charging infrastructure globally, with BYD alone doubling its ultra-fast charging network to 10,000 stations by August 2026 and targeting 20,000 by year-end. Volkswagen, through its Elli subsidiary, is rolling out high-power charging hubs across European highways. Ford's BlueOval SK joint venture is building the largest EV charging network in North America. Meanwhile, the sale of EVs in Europe is setting new records: Denmark achieved 85.9% EV share in August, Belgium set a record at 46.2% for the third consecutive month, and Spain reached 27.7% electrified vehicle sales with BEV growth exceeding 30% year-on-year. Sweden, Finland, and the Netherlands all hover around the 50% mark. The rapid infrastructure buildout combined with strong policy support is removing range anxiety as a barrier to EV adoption across the continent.
