CCTV Finance reported on October 20 that in the first three quarters China's foreign trade resilience remained prominent, with goods-trade export value reaching 23.2 trillion yuan, up 16.4% year on year. From tunnel-boring machines to Yiwu AI goods winning overseas reorders, and from humanoid robots to smart-home products at the Canton Fair, Chinese manufacturing is winning global fans with newer technology, better solutions and full-chain service.
In the first three quarters, the equipment-manufacturing sector contributed nearly 90% of export growth. Electromechanical product exports rose 23.7%, accounting for 64.3% of total export value and becoming the main driver. High-value-added products are the new engine of trade growth.
For Yiwu's small commodities, a refresh is underway: smart festive products are seeing a "reorder wave." As the world's largest Christmas-goods distribution hub, Yiwu ships to more than 170 countries and regions across over 20,000 categories. Unlike past years when order peaks centered on summer, this year shipments stayed strong into October, with overseas buyers continuously adding orders.
The newly opened Yiwu Global Digital Trade Center has become a hotspot for foreign buyers. AI glasses, AI voice recorders, bionic butterflies and dancing robots win favor with novel design and quality; AI glasses in particular ship up to hundreds of units a day at peak, with customer numbers up over 30% in the first three quarters. Yiwu Customs data show that from January to August Yiwu's foreign-trade export reached 548.85 billion yuan, up 12.8%; Christmas-goods exports to Latin America, the EU and ASEAN reached 3.23 billion yuan, 67.9% of total Christmas-goods exports.
