Zhejiang province reported cross-border e-commerce imports and exports of 264.19 billion yuan in the first eight months of 2026, an increase of 14.6% year-on-year, according to Hangzhou Customs. Exports via the cross-border e-commerce overseas warehouse model reached 24.58 billion yuan, jumping 2.6 times.

In channel opening, the first half of this year saw Ningbo-Zhoushan Port's container throughput exceed Singapore's, ranking second globally within a half-year statistical period for the first time. As of August 7, the "Yixinou" China-Europe freight train had surpassed 100,000 export containers this year, setting a record for the same period. During this summer, the China-Europe Arctic Express made eight voyages, marking the formal establishment of a regular weekly service system on the route.

On trade, Hangzhou Customs statistics show that from January to August, Zhejiang's imports and exports with ASEAN grew 23.6%, with the import share from ASEAN exceeding 20% for the first time. Trade with Africa grew 19.4%. Together, ASEAN and Africa contributed more than 60% of the province's total increase in imports and exports.

Institutional opening is improving the business environment. In January, the first batch of national pilots for sea-rail and water-water intermodal transport supervision under a "single document" system landed in Zhejiang, allowing enterprises to entrust a single multimodal transport operator and cover the entire journey with one bill of lading. As of the end of September, the Zhejiang Free Trade Zone had accumulated 865 institutional innovation outcomes.

Among the province's trading entities, more than 130,000 enterprises recorded import and export performance in the first eight months, up 17.0% year-on-year. Private enterprises' imports and exports grew 9.1%, accounting for 82.6% of the province's total.

Yiwu continues to lead all counties, cities and districts nationwide in foreign trade exports. Its Futian Logistics Park, located less than 8 kilometers from the Yiwu (Suxi) International Hub Port, has aggregated trade and logistics enterprises since its second phase opened in mid-September, and Yiwu's first state-owned self-operated border warehouse in Manzhouli officially opened on September 28.

This year's Zhejiang provincial government work report called for strengthening open hub functions, enhancing the radiation capacity of the Yiwu-Ningbo-Zhoushan and Jinhua-Lishui-Wenzhou open corridors, building a high-quality China-Europe freight train marshalling center in Jinhua (Yiwu), actively developing international road transport, and creating a modern digital trade port.
