The 2026 China International Big Data Industry Expo closed in Guiyang on August 30, 2026, after a three-day event themed "Token - a New Path to Unlock the Value of Data as a Factor of Production." The expo attracted 372 Chinese and foreign enterprises and about 16,000 guests, and staged 89 events.
The expo unveiled 87 innovation achievements, 66 of which made their global debut, covering areas such as data governance, computing infrastructure and industry applications. Organizers said the event underlined the rapid maturation of China's data economy as a driver of industrial upgrading.
Data released at the expo show that China's national intelligent computing capacity reached 2.45 million PFLOPS by the end of July, with the eight national computing hubs and three computing-power electricity collaboration zones accounting for more than 85% of the total, of which 1.45 million PFLOPS is under national monitoring. The number of high-quality datasets nationwide exceeded 126,000, totaling more than 1,815 PB, an 89% increase compared with March. Meanwhile, 32 cities joined the second batch of data-annotation pilots, bringing the total with the first batch to 39 cities, and 14 central state-owned enterprises opened more than 6 billion data records for free during a "Data Open Month."
According to the "China Data Industry Development Report (2026)" released at the expo, China now has 482,000 data enterprises, with the data industry's scale reaching about 6.78 trillion yuan.
