Chinese AI startups continued to attract substantial capital this week, with multimodal model company Mosi Intelligence announcing a Pre-A round of more than 1 billion yuan on October 12 and embodied intelligence firm Oula Wanxiang disclosing a several-hundred-million-yuan angel-plus round the same day.
Mosi Intelligence's round was led by Huakong Fund, with major investors including China Development Bank Capital and the Shanghai Science and Technology Innovation Fund. The company focuses on omni-modal real-time interaction, and the funds will be used to advance R&D and capability building for real-time interactive intelligence as well as global commercialization. Its founder and chief scientist is Qiu Xipeng, a distinguished professor at Fudan University.
Oula Wanxiang's several-hundred-million-yuan angel-plus round was jointly invested by new and existing shareholders including Chengyuanxiang Fund, Xineng Venture Capital, Xizhou International, Topband, and Hillhouse Investment. This marks the company's fourth financing within roughly half a year.
Analysts say a Pre-A round exceeding 1 billion yuan is a large amount for an AI foundation-model startup, signaling that the frontier direction of omni-modal real-time interaction is drawing capital attention. The bets hinge on whether startups can convert academic advantages into product capabilities and find sustainable differentiated paths amid competition from tech giants and fellow startups alike.
