Yiwu Customs announced that this year's cross-border e-commerce import order volume surpassed 100 million orders, more than 40 days earlier than last year, reaching a record high for the period, Cailian Press and Zhejiang CCPIT reported on October 22–23. In the first three quarters, bonded import orders hit 96.05 million, valued at 23.779 billion yuan, up 25.1% and 28.18% respectively.
The boom turns Yiwu from "selling to the world" into also "buying from the world." In the comprehensive bonded zone, bonded-stocking lets imported goods ship domestically right after order, slashing delivery time and logistics cost. More than 130 cross-border e-commerce firms cluster in the zone, importing mainly maternal, health, beauty and toy products from over 90 countries and regions.
New reform measures — a "grouping" pilot letting same-rate goods be combined for declaration, plus seamless checkpoints, mutual testing recognition and cross-district returns — further lifted efficiency. One firm's grouping business hit about 80 million yuan in September, lifting overall sales 20%, with 7.5 million orders expected during Double 11.
The two-way flow of imports and exports embodies Yiwu's evolution into a bidirectional global trade node.
