At a Sept 28 press conference, organisers said the congress is jointly hosted by MIIT, the Ministry of Transport and the Beijing municipal government, with opening and plenary sessions plus themed forums on policy, standards, key technologies, application ecosystems, networked coordination and digital transformation.
MIIT outlined three priorities for the 15th FYP on ICV & NEV: tighter industry-chain cooperation (supporting foreign firms in the China market while guiding domestic carmakers to go global), deeper international standards coordination, and steadier enterprise globalization backed by cross-border logistics and financing.
The Ministry of Transport has launched an 'AI for transport' pilot with over 100 smart-driving projects across highways, ports and mining areas, and is advancing digital-intelligent upgrades of transport infrastructure to support vehicle-road-cloud coordination.
