The 2026 Indonesia ASEAN Stationery and Gifts Expo was held recently at the Jakarta International Exhibition Center. The 5,500-square-meter exhibition area featured Chinese stationery brands from Yiwu and other cities, attracting buyers from Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand.
The event showcased tens of thousands of office supplies, student stationery, and trendy creative products. Buyers eagerly placed orders and conducted on-site transactions, creating a vibrant trading atmosphere.
Yiwu-based KUKI Creative Culture Co. reported that its signature "shake pen" has sold more than 100 million units cumulatively. Its new plush companion pen became a hit last year, with buyers ordering tens of thousands at a time, especially in Southeast Asian markets.
Another Yiwu company, Yiyibushe, specializing in pencil cases and backpacks, said Thailand was its top market this year. The company noted that Southeast Asian school terms start earlier than in China, prompting distributors to begin procurement at the start of the year.
China is the world's largest stationery manufacturer and exporter, accounting for approximately 30% of global office stationery exports. Digital stationery such as smart error printers is also gaining popularity, with global annual shipments exceeding 18 million units.
