On September 1, 2026, BYD Semiconductor announced the launch of a new satellite-architecture 4D millimeter-wave radar chip centered on its Xuanji A3 computing platform. The chip is designed for advanced intelligent driving perception systems.
The self-developed chip features MIPI CSI-2 high-speed interfaces and is compatible with mainstream serializers, enabling seamless integration with leading intelligent driving chip platforms. Built on a 28nm mature automotive-grade process, it meets market demand for high-resolution radar systems.
The new radar chip supports detection ranges exceeding 400 meters with 0.8-degree horizontal angular resolution, covering highway navigation, urban driving, and automatic parking scenarios from L2 to L4 autonomous driving levels.
Industry experts said the launch represents a significant step for BYD in building a comprehensive intelligent driving perception product matrix and deepening its automotive chip layout, laying the foundation for a full-scenario intelligent sensing ecosystem.
