On August 28, BYD announced the completion of its 10,000th flash charging station, marking a significant milestone in the company's charging infrastructure expansion.
In less than six months since launch, the flash charging network has accumulated over 210 million kWh of charging volume, serving more than 1.83 million users. Notably, one-third of the users are customers of other vehicle brands, demonstrating the network's role as a shared infrastructure platform.
BYD has established deep partnerships with China Petrochemical Corporation (Sinopec), China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), and Shell to expand its charging network coverage. The company's flash charging technology enables ultra-fast charging speeds, significantly reducing wait times for electric vehicle owners.
The milestone reflects the broader trend of Chinese NEV manufacturers investing heavily in charging infrastructure as a competitive advantage, complementing their vehicle product lines with comprehensive service ecosystems.
BYD's charging network expansion aligns with the national goal of achieving county-level charging station coverage under the 15th Five-Year Plan, contributing to the broader electrification of China's transportation sector.
