Genesis, Hyundai Motor Group's luxury brand, has officially unveiled the GV90, its first full-size flagship electric sport utility vehicle, at a world premiere held at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco.
The GV90 is the production version of the Neolun concept first shown in 2024, with a design inspired by South Korea's traditional moon jar. It is built on Genesis' Electric Mobility Prime (eMP) platform, dedicated to flagship electric models.
The GV90 is equipped with a 123.5 kWh battery, the largest in the Hyundai Motor Group lineup. A 350 kW fast charger can charge it from 10 percent to 80 percent in 22 minutes. The seven-seat GV90 can travel 500 kilometers on a single charge.
Its front and rear motors deliver a combined 490 kW of peak power and 800 newton-meters of torque. The GV90 is also the first Hyundai Motor Group vehicle to feature electronic limited-slip differentials on both axles and active rear-wheel steering that turns the rear wheels by up to 5 degrees.
The GV90 Neolun trim features a world-first hidden B-pillar coach door that allows the front and rear doors to open toward each other. The vehicle has 12 airbags, including a roof airbag that covers the entire roof glass in a rollover.
The GV90 measures 5,285 mm long with a 3,245 mm wheelbase. It eliminates the ignition button entirely, powering up when the door handle is pulled. The GV90 is expected to launch in Korea this year, with the base model starting in the mid-100 million won range (approximately $71,810).
