白宫OSTP公布超50亿美元跨15个联邦机构的AI科学计划Genesis Mission,资金覆盖卫生、基础设施、半导体等五大领域。

WASHINGTON — The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) unveiled in late July 2026 more than $5 billion in federal commitments expanding the Genesis Mission — a government-wide initiative, established by Executive Order 14363 in November 2025, to harness artificial intelligence to accelerate scientific research and discovery on a national scale. The funding spans more than 15 federal agencies organized around five mission pillars. 'Helping Americans Live Longer, Healthier Lives' directs HHS, DOE, NSF, EPA, the VA and DOD to combine health data, genomic datasets and DOE supercomputing to accelerate drug discovery, improve early disease detection for veterans and study chronic disease and pediatric cancer. 'Delivering Reliable Infrastructure and Energy Affordability' tasks DOT, DOE and the Department of the Interior with deploying AI-driven digital twins and data integration to modernize the power grid and manage critical minerals and water resources. 'Building American Industrial Strength' directs DOE, DOD, HHS and NSF to apply AI across semiconductor R&D and advanced microelectronics manufacturing; bio-based fuel and chemical scale-up; and accelerated design and certification of weapons components. 'Extending the Frontiers of American Discovery' funds AI-driven analysis of space and scientific data, autonomous laboratories, quantum computing development and predictive modeling of biological systems and new materials. 'Protecting the Nation from Emerging Threats' directs agencies to apply AI to biological threat detection and materials testing. OSTP released a companion report, 'Science: A New Golden Age,' outlining the broader policy architecture behind the Genesis Mission, organized around four chapters: revitalizing America's science and technology enterprise, securing US dominance in critical and emerging technologies, ensuring science benefits all Americans, and launching a new golden age of science. Separately, the Trump administration launched the GOLD EAGLE Initiative on July 14, a public-private clearinghouse led by Treasury, DHS and DOD to accelerate AI-driven vulnerability detection and patching in critical infrastructure, pursuant to Executive Order 14409 on promoting advanced AI innovation and security.
