Many people think that you should drink Huoxiang Zhengqi Water when you have heatstroke, but in fact, not all heatstroke symptoms are suitable for this medicine. Chinese medicine divides heat stroke into "sunshine heat" and "shade heat", the causes and treatment of these two conditions are different.
"Sunstroke" is usually caused by prolonged exposure to the outdoors or in a high-temperature closed environment, and common symptoms include dizziness, burnout, thirst, dizziness, sweating, chest tightness, upset, etc. Drinking water containing alcoholic ingredients may accelerate the evaporation of body fluids, exacerbate dehydration, and exacerbate heatstroke symptoms. The correct treatment is to physically cool down, such as wiping the body with a towel soaked in cold water, and appropriately eating foods such as watermelon and mung bean sugar water to relieve symptoms; if you sweat too much, you can supplement light salt water to maintain water balance.
In contrast, "shady heat" is often caused by excessive greed in hot weather (such as air conditioning temperature setting too low, direct blowing of the fan), which causes cold evil to attack the muscle surface and heat closed inside. Typical symptoms are body heat headache, sweat-free cold, joint soreness, abdominal pain and diarrhea, etc. For this situation, Huoxiang Zhengqi Water can indeed play a certain mitigating effect, because it has the effects of pungent temperature decomposition, moisture removal and neutralization.
In addition to specific types of heatstroke, Huoxiang Zhengqi drugs are also suitable for a variety of discomforts, such as: cold due to exogenous wind chill, internal injury and dampness, or summer and summer injury and dampness; loss of appetite caused by spleen dampness and stomach turbidity, thick tongue coating; water and soil diarrhea, motion sickness and seasickness; pediatric indigestion; and abdominal pain caused by cold, diarrhea (but bacterial diarrhea should not be used). In addition, diluted Huoxiang Zhengqi water can also be used topically to relieve skin problems such as mosquito bites.
