A customer exposed a supermarket for storing bread in dirty baskets, prompting the store to rectify the issue and destroy the affected products. On August 15, an online user reported that at the Huikeduo Supermarket (Renhe branch) in Guangzhou, Guangdong, bread was left open on shelves and bagged, while the turnover baskets used to transport the bread showed black stains resembling mold.
Store staff explained that bread is normally not stored this way. Due to heavy summer foot traffic and a busy workload, the open storage and bagging occurred.
The baskets involved were originally intended for restocking and were mistakenly used by staff. Combined with recent humid and sun-exposed weather, mold grew on the baskets, leaving stains that could not be cleaned off.
