On September 20, Agora Robotics (Qiyuan), founded by well-known roboticist Zhiyuan Jun, released its first consumer humanoid products, the Q1 and T1, with prices starting at 19,999 yuan—a notable step in bringing humanoids from labs and factories to households.
The Q1 stands 88 cm and can fold to fit into a backpack, with 22 compliant force-control degrees of freedom for safe interaction; the T1 supports switching between humanoid and quadruped forms. Both are positioned for home companionship, education and light tasks, and the Q1 is the first to integrate Tencent's WorkBuddy assistant.
The launch reflects a broader "consumer humanoid" wave in China's robotics sector, where falling component costs and mature embodied-intelligence stacks are pushing price points toward mainstream affordability. Analysts said sub-20,000-yuan humanoids could seed a new consumer-electronics category and accelerate real-home deployment data collection.
The move follows a busy September for Chinese robotics, with the 9th China Robot Summit in Hangzhou and multiple embodied-intelligence platforms stressing the shift "from demo to scale."
