Yiwu's export value reached 420.7 billion yuan in the first half of the year, breaking the 400-billion mark for the first time in a comparable period, as the 'world supermarket' posted the best first-half result in its history despite global trade headwinds, The Paper reported on October 28.
In the first half, Yiwu's total import and export volume hit 486.42 billion yuan, up 19.9% year on year, while regional GDP reached 135.61 billion yuan, up 8.0%, the fastest growth among Zhejiang's 17 strongest county-level economies.
The market now draws about 300,000 visitors a day, unveils more than 1,000 new products daily, hosts over 38,000 resident foreign traders and more than 680,000 overseas buyers, with goods shipped to 233 countries and regions - and even its most concentrated single market, the Middle East, accounts for only about 15% of trade.
Yiwu's parcel volume approached 14 billion pieces in 2025, the highest of any Chinese county, averaging roughly 26,000 parcels a minute to the world - a logistics density that underpins its resilience when any single market hits turbulence.
