On the evening of Oct 20, Li Auto co-founder, president and chief engineer Ma Donghui announced the 'Lianshan' (Linked Mountains) electric technology system spanning battery, e-drive, ultra-fast charging equipment and a self-built ultra-fast-charging network, with the in-house battery named the Lianshan Battery. The company also released a battery guarantee plan: if a fire caused by a quality defect in the self-developed battery totals the vehicle, Li Auto will compensate with a new car of equal specification; for collision- or underbody-scrape-induced battery fires that total the car, it will cover the gap between insurance payout and policy limit.
Separately, Huawei's Yinwang and CATL's 'chocolate' battery-swap cooperation will see its first model — a product of the Dongfeng-Huawei Yinwang 'Yijing' brand — launched in 2027. CATL also detailed its Tianxing II heavy-truck '4+1' battery series and said it plans to build 900 heavy-truck swap stations by end-2026, 2,000 by 2027 and a long-term target of 10,000, betting that electric heavy trucks become the mainstream of China's trunk-logistics.
