After touring the themed zones of the Yiwu Global Digital Trade Center, a group of foreign livestreamers ended their visit at the Yiwu Selection brand-collection store — a showcase of quality small commodities from 250 enterprises and 300-plus brands, already present in 10 overseas outlets across five continents including Kenya.
The cross-border livestream event opened a cloud window on the world for the "world supermarket." On the day, cumulative cross-border livestream duration exceeded 70 hours, with total overseas viewership of about 100,000. Amando, a Peruvian streamer with more than 200,000 social-media followers, said digital trade is the trend of the market's development, and the Global Digital Trade Center is a concrete embodiment of the market of the future.
Yiwu Selection initiator He Lihong said organizing many foreign streamers to enter the market at once boosts both the visibility of Yiwu's brands and the confidence of local merchants to go global.
From an offline "world supermarket" to an online "world live-streaming room," Yiwu is steadily widening the path for small commodities to go overseas by combining deep industrial strength with fast-developing digital trade.
