"Yiwu, here we come!" On the evening of October 20, more than 100 buyers from South American countries flew from Guangzhou to Yiwu airport to attend the 32nd China Yiwu International Small Commodities Fair, which opened the next day. First-time visitors made up the bulk of the delegation, focused on centralized procurement of electronics, hardware tools, textiles and daily necessities.
"I came empty-handed and will surely leave with a full load," said Sandra, a Colombian buyer on his first trip to Yiwu, who plans to purchase about $50,000 of daily necessities, home goods and handicrafts and build stable supply channels with multiple vendors. Fidel from Peru said Yiwu's wide product range and reliable supply make it a key destination for Latin American buyers.
The delegation spans Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Colombia, Bolivia and other countries. Through the fair's "exhibition + market + park" linkage, buyers can sample at the event and then go deep into the International Commerce City and the Global Digital Trade Center for category-by-category, precision sourcing, leveraging Yiwu's complete supply-chain and cross-border fulfilment capabilities.
Organizers say the platform helps South American buyers take Yiwu's high-value, low-cost goods — and the story of the market — back to their home markets, attracting even more regional purchasers.
