On September 22, Gaolan International Container Terminal in the Zhuhai Economic & Technological Development Zone launched its first new-energy-vehicle (NEV) container-export project. A total of 2,807 Chinese-made pure-electric vehicles set off for South America, with a total value of about 290 million yuan.
The shipment — BYD Dolphin models bound for the Port of Vitória, Brazil — set a new record for the single largest vehicle export via the port. It marks the successful use of sea-rail intermodal transport to streamline NEV exports, opening a flexible and efficient logistics channel for "Made in China" vehicles to reach global markets.
The two-voyage operation highlights how port-rail integration is helping southern and southwestern China's auto bases scale up overseas deliveries.
