A recent Tencent report details how Yiwu is building an AI industry from application scenarios to ecosystem construction, with a distinctly "trade-born" character. A local model now counts 67,000 registered users and over 310,000 cumulative served users, pushing Yiwu's commerce from "product digitalization" toward "intelligent trade."
The AI wave has extended beyond the marketplace into manufacturing. At Zhejiang Youkela Intelligent Technology, an integrated trade-and-factory enterprise, a self-developed IoT system links every production step: AI cameras monitor progress and detect safety hazards, and the system auto-schedules production based on delivery deadlines and inventory. New-product success rates jumped from 30% to 90%, R&D cycles shortened sharply, and financial reconciliation dropped from five hours to ten minutes.
Citywide, Yiwu is advancing "AI + manufacturing" across its "4+4+X" industrial system, rolling out provincial smart factories, digital workshops and future-factory pilots, with AGV transporters, AI visual inspection and "lights-out" workshops moving from concept to reality.
