In September, China's NEV market is undergoing a deep transition from a "price war" to a "value war," reshaping the landscape through policy stimulus and downward technology diffusion. The five-department 2026 NEV-to-countryside campaign continues to gain traction, with 155 models spanning the 30,000–500,000-yuan range, combined with 62.5 billion yuan of trade-in subsidies and purchase-tax exemptions.
The 50,000–100,000-yuan commuter segment has become the main battlefield: the Geely Galaxy Star Wish (from 64,800 yuan), Wuling Bingo Pro (from 56,800 yuan) and Leapmotor A10 (from 65,800 yuan) launched densely, while the Aion UT 530 CATL edition offered a limited 85,800 yuan price, pulling 400 km+ pure EVs under 90,000 yuan.
Rather than relying on price cuts alone, makers are lifting competitiveness by trickling down technology as battery costs fall (lithium carbonate at 70,000–90,000 yuan per tonne). The Leapmotor B10 first put an 800V SiC platform in the 100,000-yuan class with 30%–80% charging in 16 minutes; Qualcomm 8295 chips, L2+ assistance and 540-degree transparency chassis—once 200,000-yuan features—are now standard on sub-100,000-yuan models like the Changan UNI-Z and Deepal L07.
Market segmentation is sharpening into a "two ends hot, middle stable" pattern, and headmakers are upgrading from product competition to system-level competition, shifting from direct discounts to "trade-in + zero-interest finance + option packages" combinations.
