On September 18, Huawei Cloud announced the launch of its Lingqu (Spirit Lane) Ascend 950 supernode cluster service and rolled out an Agentic Cloud product matrix including Agentic MaaS and the "Zhiguo" AgentArts platform, with a CMS memory store double the industry norm and 512-bit context. AgentArts already serves 100+ enterprises, with over 1,000 "industry AI dream factory" landing projects.
The move comes as Huawei Connect 2026 (opened September 17 in Shanghai) showcased the Ascend 960 supernode—the world's first NPO (near-package optics) supernode scaling to 4,096 cards at 8 EFLOPS FP8, with over 1,000 Ascend 910C supernodes already deployed serving 370+ customers. Huawei said Ascend R&D investment has exceeded that of its wireless division.
Analysts said Huawei is focusing on AI infrastructure—"silicon black soil"—through system-architecture innovation and an open-source ecosystem, supporting mainstream models for native training on Ascend and embracing a "hundred models, thousand forms" strategy.
