A September 17 Xinhua-backed local-government report highlights how Yiwu—China's "World Supermarket"—is sending firms abroad in organized groups to open new markets. The 2026 Yiwu Fair Overseas Exhibition Korea Station opened on September 17 at Seoul's SETEC, running three days in a "show-within-a-show" format inside the 2026 Seoul E-commerce Expo.
The exhibition spanned 8,287 sq m with about 300 booths; the mall exhibition company organized 15 Yiwu enterprises covering jewelry, crafts, daily goods, hardware, kitchenware, outdoor products, small appliances and packaging. "Going out, there are only opportunities!" said Yu Tianqi, head of Huadu Packaging, whose custom services drew strong interest from quality-focused Korean buyers.
So far this year the exhibition company has scaled up overseas shows: Bologna (Italy) in February with 20M+ yuan of intent; Jakarta (Indonesia) in May with 129 Yiwu firms and 55M+ yuan; Mexico City in July with 50M+ yuan across the US-Canada-Mexico market. After Korea, the Brazil station (São Paulo, Nov 4–6) and Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City) follow. In January–August, 932 Yiwu enterprises and 1,994 people joined 136 overseas exhibitions across 19 group delegations.
