On September 19, FAW-Volkswagen confirmed that its all-new pure-electric mid-size SUV, the ID.AURA T6, will officially launch on September 20, 2026. Presales had opened on August 28 with four variants priced from 135,900 to 169,900 yuan.
The model is built on Volkswagen's locally developed CEA (China Electric Architecture) smart pure-electric platform rather than a combustion-derived conversion, upgrading intelligent interaction, power response and over-the-air iteration. Higher trims carry a lidar and an enhanced L2 assisted-driving system with continuous OTA support.
The 135,900-yuan entry price pushes a genuine Volkswagen pure-electric architecture into the mainstream sub-140,000-yuan family-SUV segment, breaking the long-standing perception that JV EVs are overpriced. Industry analysts said the pricing gives the ID.AURA T6 strong competitiveness against both local and JV rivals and offers ordinary families a high-value option for a quality pure-electric SUV.
