On September 17, China News Service reported that Yiwu held an "IP into Market" licensing matchmaking event at the Yiwu Global Digital Trade Center, bringing together more than 300 Yiwu merchants with several leading IP copyright holders to explore new paths for integrating well-known IP with the small-commodity industry.
The event centered on the theme "IP empowers small commodities, copyright links new business opportunities," aiming to help local manufacturers and traders upgrade from OEM and generic goods toward branded, IP-infused products with higher value-add and overseas appeal.
Merchants said access to recognized IP helps differentiate in crowded export categories and open premium channels abroad, part of Yiwu's broader shift from pure price competition to brand- and IP-driven going-global.
