On September 16, Nubia's NaviX Ultra went on sale, equipped with the consumer version of ByteDance's Doubao phone assistant, starting at 5,499 yuan after subsidies. The device can execute cross-app tasks such as messages, meetings, documents and PPT, with lock-screen persistent execution, personal memory and multi-step task planning.
The launch signals AI phones moving from pre-installed assistants into system-level task execution. ByteDance is reorganizing its AI office by merging Doubao, Feishu and Volcano Engine into one enterprise-intelligence platform where agent, model and collaboration form a trinity; Feishu 8.0 expanded interfaces from 247 to 767.
The Doubao phone can wake by voice, answer on-screen questions, retrieve local memory and automate tasks. IDC forecasts 2026 China AI-phone shipments at 147 million units, over 53% of the market, underscoring on-device AI as a core growth vector.
Separately, MediaTek launched the first 2 nm flagship mobile chip, Dimensity 9600 Pro, with vivo X500 Pro and OPPO Find X10 Pro Max as first adopters—highlighting how on-device AI is becoming a central battleground for smartphone makers.
