Horizon Robotics founder Yu Kai announced that the company's autonomous-driving chip cumulative shipments have surpassed 15 million units, with the 15 millionth Journey chip debuting on FAW-Volkswagen's new ID. AURA T6, as the HSD V2.1 system launches full-scene automated parking.
Yu said Horizon aims to become the No.1 supplier in the high-end intelligent-driving chip market. With the rapid rise of mid-to-high-level assisted-driving penetration in new cars, Horizon must compete with rivals such as Nvidia on compute, software stacks and automaker design wins.
Cumulative Journey-family output has exceeded 15 million, with one in three intelligent-driving cars in China using Horizon chips. The company's next-generation Journey product is set for mass production later this year on a top NEV maker.
Industry watchers said whether Horizon can convert shipment scale into high-end market share will be its core test in the next phase, as domestic chipmakers accelerate localization of the autonomous-driving supply chain.
