Tesla officially launched the Cybercab in Austin, Texas on September 3, 2026, marking the worlds first mass-produced vehicle purpose-built for full autonomous driving. The Cybercab eliminates traditional controls entirely -- no steering wheel, pedals, or rearview mirrors -- relying solely on Teslas end-to-end vision-based autonomous driving system. The vehicle features a dual bench-seat layout and a large central touchscreen. Its 47.6 kWh battery pack delivers an NEDC range of 673 km, with energy efficiency rated at 9.8 km per kWh. Unboxing manufacturing enables ultra-fast production, with the factory targeting several seconds per vehicle. The Cybercab estimated ride-hailing cost is approximately 0.8 yuan per kilometer, just one-tenth of the industry average. Starting mid-September, Tesla will bring the Cybercab to Beijing and Shanghai for a technology showcase, though commercial sales and operations in China are not yet planned.
