BMW announced it delivered its two-millionth fully electric vehicle in August 2026, about 13 years after the launch of the first BMW i3. European sales of fully electric BMWs grew 38% year-on-year in the second quarter to 81,445 units, with the new iX3 accounting for one in three electric orders in Europe. In the same month, BMW's Munich plant began series production of the new i3, the second model built on the Neue Klasse architecture after the iX3. The electric sedan, which offers up to 900 km of WLTP range and 400 kW fast charging, is scheduled for customer deliveries in autumn 2026. Including plug-in hybrids, BMW and Mini have delivered about 3.5 million electrified vehicles worldwide since 2013.
