Guangzhou Port Authority announced on December 15th that the foreign trade cargo throughput of Guangzhou Port from January to November this year was 179 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 10.72%; The throughput of foreign trade containers was 13.04 million TEUs, a year-on-year increase of 19.23%. It is expected to achieve a cargo throughput of 695 million tons and a container throughput of 27.5 million TEUs throughout the year.
Among them, the throughput of foreign trade containers has surpassed that of domestic trade, breaking through the 50% mark, marking the accelerated transformation of Guangzhou Port from the traditional "largest domestic trade port" to a "dual circulation hub".
Up to now, Guangzhou Port has opened 182 foreign trade liner routes, connecting more than 400 ports around the world, including 152 "the Belt and Road" routes and 98 "Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement" (RCEP) national routes. The multimodal transport system supports the domestic circulation, with 73 shuttle bus barge routes and 39 sea rail intermodal trains constructing a three-dimensional logistics channel. The annual sea rail intermodal transport volume is expected to exceed 700000 TEUs, a year-on-year increase of 15.7%. Through the "Hunan Guangdong Maritime Silk Road" full logistics product, the export time of manufacturing enterprises in the central region has been shortened by 3 days, serving the strategic requirement of "building a unified national market".
The construction of the 200000 ton waterway project at Guangzhou Port has started three months ahead of schedule, and major projects such as the Nansha Port International General Terminal and Nansha Phase V Project are currently underway. Liu Yifa, Deputy Director of Guangzhou Port Authority, stated that in the future, the development of Guangzhou Port will focus on six major directions: firstly, strengthening the hub function and accelerating the construction of modern infrastructure; The second is to improve the service level and develop the high-end shipping service industry; The third is to strengthen the port economy and build a modern industrial system; Fourth, promote smart transformation and deepen the application of new technologies; Fifth, enhance organizational capabilities and improve global resource allocation efficiency; Sixth, deepen opening up and cooperation, and jointly build a new international shipping ecosystem.
