Tesla has confirmed its largest order to date for the Tesla Semi electric truck, just months after the company began commercial production at its Gigafactory in Nevada, nearly 10 years after the vehicle's first unveiling.
Einride, a United States-based supply chain company, has placed an order for 500 Tesla Semis, valued at approximately 125 million US dollars. The trucks will be deployed on Einride's fleet intelligence platform, Saga AI, serving Amazon and other customers across North America.
The deployment will begin within weeks, starting in September 2026, with trucks gradually rolled out over the next two years.
The Tesla Semi comes in two variants. The Standard Range variant features a 548 kWh battery pack delivering over 500 km of range. The larger Long Range variant has an 822 kWh battery pack delivering over 800 km of range with a 37-tonne load on board. Both use Tesla's 4680 cells with NMC chemistry, chargeable at up to 1.2 MW with Tesla's Megachargers.
Last month, Tesla deployed its first Semi Megacharger station with up to 1.2 MW of charging power per stall. Tesla is expected to produce the Semi trucks at the Nevada Gigafactory, which can produce up to 50,000 trucks per year, with plans to expand into European and other markets.
